| 1282134 | 2012-06-16 21:42:00 | My power co contacted me recently suggesting I change to the low user plan as it would save me money and be cheaper. Ok I thought, I will. Either my calculations are off or it's a con. Standard pricing is: .82 daily charge and .2287 kwh charge. Low user pricing: .375 daily charge and .2697 kwh charge. So I used 448 units and had 34 days on my last bill. Standard bill makes it $137.65 + GST, New Low User bill makes it $142.21+GST. I worked it out on a few of the older bills too, each time it is actually cheaper to be on the standard bill. I pointed this out and asked to be changed back (which will incur a fee) and they said I was wrong and sent calculations only based on the kwh, not including the daily charge. |

I seem to differ from your workings and only costing you $3.24 more. Send them a copy of your workings and mention FairGo or Target, which seems to do the trick. Lurking. |

| 1282138 | 2012-06-17 01:01:00 | I'm on powershop and find it pretty good for us. No daily charge. Current rate .2588 per unit. (fluctuates seasonally) They also have "specials" for less on a regular basis. It takes a few minutes checking their site weekly and is 'pay in advance' (if you want the special rates) but it has saved us heaps in the last couple of years. |

Still, it's more to be on low user. Right? Suck. Like I said, I did a few older bills too, still more for low user each time. I did mention this, cause the promotion is Low User - get a cheaper bill. And it isn't. Yeah -Powershop, I compared them all, but I also compared them all on Customer Service too, and Powershop rates low on that. I prefer better service + cheap, not cheap and nasty. |

| 1282141 | 2012-06-17 04:17:00 | Dunno how much "customer service" you need with power - either it is on or it isn't. I'll take the extra $ thanks. |

| 1282142 | 2012-06-17 05:57:00 | If the company said it "would be cheaper to change" and it is proving not to be then it seems to me they are misleading you if they meant "cheaper if you ignore the daily charge" - which you would never do. They should change you back at no cost to you. As someone else said, Fair Go seems a good route - they are fairly hot on Power companies these days. Also if you are a member of Consumer I would talk to them. | Tony (4941) | ||
| 1282143 | 2012-06-17 06:05:00 | Have you yet billed the Power Co. for the Electricity you returned instantly, and in exactly equal quantities to the power they supplied? You could point out you are returning improved electricity, it is now filtered, and is totally made up of free-range, organic electrons. |
