2012-06-15 22:56:00 | Just wondering how many of you indicate when you take the exit after the roundabout be it if you are making a turn ie., a right so you indicate right then indicate left when you take the exit or if you go straight ahead and indicate left. | Nomad (952) | |
2012-06-15 22:58:00 | Me thinks you need to either A, Read the Road Code or B, Re Do your driving test or C, Both | coldfront (15814) | |
2012-06-15 23:02:00 | When I am driving around people don't tend to indicate left when taking the exit. If they go ahead, they don't at all, if they turn right or left then it's just that single indicating ... I indicate right then left to take the exit. I think the road code does say to indicate left to exit but few people do that from what I see..

If you are not going strait through but pass the strait through exit you indicate right as you enter and continue to do so until after you pass that exit then indicate left for the next exit if that is the one you want to exit from. Hope that is clear. :) |

2012-06-16 00:08:00 | What is the purpose of indicating "after" I have left the roundabout? The car(s) in front of you know whether to wait for you or not ...

2012-06-16 00:20:00 | Trev got it right, where's that +1 button. And Nomad you are not being very clear, after the roundabout? cars in front? It's simple but it seems a large proportion of drivers have no Idea or don't care, hamilton has a lot of roundabouts and it's like playing Russian roulette.. As you approach a roundabout; If you're taking the first exit indicate left If you're going straight don't indicate until you are passing the exit before the one you are taking then indicate left (as you're passing the exit not after) If you are taking the 3rd or later exit indicate right then indicate left as you pass the exit before your one. If it sounds complicated just indicate as you would if there was no roundabout with the exception that as you go around you should always indicate left to exit. Indicating right to go straight just confuses people. I also hate people who insist on driving around the outside when there are 2 lanes, if you're turning right get in the middle lane.
