| 1282612 | 2012-06-20 21:10:00 | Thank you so much for # 2. It has reminded me how much freedom we had in those days and all the very happy memories of growing up then! We played cowboys and indians, and bullrush and climbed trees and onto roofs and fell down trying to walk across rivers and streams and sometimes got lost in shops and stranded on rocks at high tide, pushed into the swimming pools at the deep end and jumped off the high board holding our noses, putting pennies on the railway line and watching them get squashed flat! Well, thats what I did anyway, having three older brothers was great fun! LL +1 apart form the pennies. |

| 1282613 | 2012-06-20 23:00:00 | We were allowed to be more adventurous and . . . l and we thought nothing of walking . I still don't think much of walking . I am rather pleased to not suffer from "stone bruises" these days . Doctors were a bit traumatic in those days, first visit involved getting born, which was a big deal in those days . Next trip resulted in losing a bit of weight, and my appendix, third trip wound up with me going into the Air Force . Doctors these days just don't seem to have that sort of power . Petrol stations had several brands, it is nearly impossible to find a good Europa seller these days, and Marfak Chassis Lubricants are getting mighty hard to find . Fortunately the bread has improved, that wartime bread was pretty harmful to the birds when it was thrown out on the lawn (landing with a very dull thud) . I do not regret the passing of that infernal meat paste . |
