1306434 2012-10-12 08:16:00 Sometimes systems just go nuts and refuse to reset until totally cut from the mains power for a few minutes.

I'd also try pulling the plug from the wall, waiting 5 minutes (some say up to 20 mins) and then re-plug and attempt power-up.

1306435 2012-10-12 08:21:00 And a final thought... I once got called out to troubleshoot a power-on problem.

They'd always started the computer simply by flicking the wall switch, and it'd power up and boot with no further input.

Then one day some setting / update upset the BIOS power settings and it would no longer boot on resumption of power supply. They only tried the usual technique of flicking the wall switch.

I just bent over, pressed the Power button, and away it went (what do you say to someone in such a dumbass situation as having to introduce them to the power button!!??)

Anyway, I'm just trying to say... make sure you've tried EVERYTHING.

And in case your PSU is struggling, remove all unneccessary USB drives / accessories and try again.

1306436 2012-10-12 08:25:00 Back to the manufacturers technical support, Different people have different wants, If thats his criteria then so be it.

Personally I wouldn't care, if something fails the it gets returned to the point of purchase, and they can deal with the manufacturer or importer.

Anyhow, a couple of people have told me that Asus support is now being controlled from Skippyland and not as good as it once was.

But again, who would ring them?, The point of sale is your contact.
