1281573 2012-06-14 05:50:00 Hey, so my LG W2252TQ is dieing. It turns on for 3 secs then turns off. Some times im lucky and it will get just before the username/password screen on windows then turn off. Taking out the plug for 30mins and repluging helps it work some times but today doesnt want to work

So looking for a new monitor I had atm a LG W2252TQ 16:10 1680x1050 for 2-3 years and got it for around $300.
I use a AMD HD 4850 GHX card and use the computer for:Internet videos, Games.

Any recommendations would be great

1281576 2012-06-14 07:24:00 Why are their limited 16:10 monitors now?

Whats better 16:10 or 16:9? IMO 16:10 looks better.

1281577 2012-06-14 07:33:00 Most video content is designed for 16:9 & going forward, most websites & applications will be designed for 1920x1080 (or possibly 1366x768) because most consumer monitors have that as their native resolution. Greven (91)

I prefer 16:10 due to the increased vertical screen estate, but 16:9 is the standard now.

1281579 2012-06-14 09:11:00 I prefer 16:10 due to the increased vertical screen estate, but 16:9 is the standard now.16:9 has more vertical screen estate in HD as it is 1920x1080 where as the 16:10 was only 1680x1050, but will agree in the case of 1366x768 and 1600x900. Iantech (16386)
1281580 2012-06-14 09:22:00 I can recommend Asus screens. Great colour. icow (15313)
1281581 2012-06-14 10:06:00 I am fond of samsung but am a bit wary after my tv's powerboard cut out (faulty caps). My Viewsonic monitor has been going rather well for a number of years now though, one pixel did get stuck a year or so ago but repaired it, fine since. It's an old model now (sig) but for the price I paid it's really done very well. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)
1281582 2012-06-14 10:21:00 16:9 has more vertical screen estate in HD as it is 1920x1080 where as the 16:10 was only 1680x1050, but will agree in the case of 1366x768 and 1600x900.

Remember of course 1920x1200 exists as well. Personally though, I'd go for 16:9 as I have a lot of HD video and don't like black borders.
