61316 2002-07-10 10:21:00 hmmm i have a couple of questions

1st - if i was to reinstall xp, do i have to re-activate it or what, i have no clue as to how this works, so can someone please let me know

2nd - when i click on a link that opens in a new window, or i right-click and select 'Open in New Window', it opens a window, but it doesnt take me to the new page. the url bar is empty. any thoughts?

3rd - does anybody know of a good download manager that allows me to pause my downloads and finish them later? preferably one without spyware and that will uninstall easily and allow the default windows download thing to get back to it's business.

any help greatly appreciated

61318 2002-07-10 10:35:00 1st - Through my experience you can reinstall XP and then activate again over the net, but this can only happen 2 or 3 times then you will have to call microsoft. If you reinstall then try to activate and it wont let you it will give you the microsoft number to ring as well as another lengthy product identification number, all you have to do is tell them why you had to re activate (such as reinstall trying to fix a problem) and then read them the product identification number that xp will give you, they will then give you another number to type in and it will be activated again. 61319 2002-07-10 10:38:00 The instructions on reinstall should only be true if you are reinstalling with a significant hardware change.
With the same hardware it should present the same identity number to microsoft and shouldn't be seen as a possible new computer.
