| 61355 | 2002-07-10 11:26:00 | Hi I am a Student and amongst other things I am studyng Delphi and Visual Basic, with Delphi there is free version, which does most of what I need, is there an equivalent for Visual Basic, I have tried searching for it but all I find are samples of VB code, thanks in advance. | 61356 | 2002-07-10 12:30:00 | I'm unsure if there is a free version of VB or a compatible free program to edit it. But: Visual Basic .NET Standard 2002 $263.73 here (www.ascent.co.nz) You should be able to get good deals thru Campus Computers or whoever is at your local place of study. |

| 61357 | 2002-07-10 12:44:00 | Why if you are using Delphi do you even want to try VB because Dephi is far superior to VB. As far as I know MS has no equivalent to the Delphi freebee. Saying that the proffessional version adds so much there is no comparison. MS probably has an educational version of VB but it will still cost you. Did you know that MS used Delphi 1 to create an install program and that they were so impressed with it that they went to great lengths to employ the leader of the Delphi program and enticed another thirty Borland personal from Borland. |

| 61359 | 2002-07-10 20:54:00 | Hello all and thanks for your help, the reason I am doing VB as well as Delphi is because so many people seem to use it, or at least people I have spoken to do, and I do personally enjoy delphi a bit more, probably owing to the fact that I have already done some pascal, anyway thanks a lot, I will go and check out the pricing at tech.
