61329 2002-07-10 10:27:00 Have purchased a second hand computer that had the hard drive cleaned. While trying to load Win98 from a CD or use a start up disk, the computer does not read any drives except the C drive. How can I alter the configuration so that I can load Windows etc? apute (753)
61330 2002-07-10 10:41:00 You need to go into the BIOS on bootup and set to "boot" optiond to FDD, CD, HDD order.

Keypress on bootup depends on BIOS type, often displayed for a few secs at boot time. Try F1, or DEL

61331 2002-07-10 10:50:00 You will find it easier to boot from a floppy that loads generic CD drivers. You can use any (except xp) boot disk created by the window Emergency Boot Disk creator

You can find this in the add/remove programs applet.
