61766 2002-07-11 22:37:00 I have Windows XP, Geforce 2, and onboard sound (no souncard).

I am having problems with Red Baron 2, which is upgraded to 3D. The sound didnt work before the upgrade, or after.

Can someone help me get sound going on that game?

Its probably because of XP

61767 2002-07-11 23:32:00 OK - a common problem with XP and RB it seems. There a PDF document at Wings of Valour (http://www.wings-of-valor.org/) with a bunch of workarounds for such problems. Might help.

Note: You need the Acrobat viewer plugin to view

61768 2002-07-12 08:29:00 Also, i have a Athlon XP 2000, and it must be too fast for RB, because my game goes about 3 times faster than normal.
How can i fix that?

61769 2002-07-16 05:39:00 You could try something like this program ( . cpukiller . com/products/cpukiller/index . html" target="_blank">www . cpukiller . com) which slows your CPU down . Haven't tried it myself, so no guartantees . . . Biggles (121)
61770 2002-07-16 06:36:00 This looks like deja vu again. ;-)
The 12 MHz AT made lots of games run unplayably fast, so first there were TSRs to slow the processor down, then the hardware Turbo switch to select between 12 and 4.77 .

61771 2002-07-16 21:37:00 I know - I had exactly the same problem with the original Red Baron game from Dymanix, which I played for yonks on something like a 16MHz 286 then came back to years later when I had a brand spanking new 50MHz 486 - but alas it ran like the clappers . I never bothered trying to slow the CPU down, there were other games to play . . . Biggles (121)
61772 2002-07-19 12:23:00 Odd. I ran the original Red Baron perfectly on a 300 mhz computer mejobloggs (264)
61773 2002-07-21 21:25:00 An original copy of it or the one (I think) they released free a few years ago? I think the later had been updated to run on modern PCs. Biggles (121)
