61599 2002-07-11 07:50:00 I recently purchased an MS Intellimouse compatible PS/2 optical mouse,
Plugged it in and it worked fine(no setting up), but when I tried to connect to the internet, I received a Modem not plugged in or not found error, I removed the new mouse replaced it with the old mouse and the modem worked. I run Win 98 on a 500 mHz Pentium.
Could this be an IRQ conflict, and hows the best way to fix it?

61600 2002-07-11 07:54:00 The PS/2 port will use IRQ 12. Is you standard mouse on the PS/2 port, or on a COM port. A ISA modem is usually put to COM4 and IRQ3; a PCI one is put wherever the system decides. ;-)

Check with your Device Manager for conflicts.
