| 62110 | 2003-01-06 23:06:00 | Hey I have an HP Cd-Writer 8200 Series (USB External), and I have found that it will write to most sorts of disks - I usually buy the big 25 pack spindles for $30.00, and all the different brands I've tried seem to work great (currently using SKC CD-R's at the moment) CyberChuck |

Kodak's ones are also the one ones I have tried that work on EVERY CD-ROM and Audio CD-Player around! Dont know why, but they're only 74Mins which might have something to do with it, combined with their special coatings! |

| 62112 | 2003-01-07 00:24:00 | >What brand of CD blanks do you use Chris? Gidday Baldy! I've been mass burning on dorado disks, and am quite happy with them, particually the specail that warehouse stationary had that got me 25 disks for $20 including 5 slimline cases in the pack, though sadly only one was purple :( I'm quite convinced that the only problems i have now are related to overheating, partly because it only seems to happen after several burns, and partly because i can use the same "failed" disk some hours later. .Clueless |

| 62113 | 2003-01-07 08:47:00 | Just to put my 2cents worth in, I'm running W98 on a 266 K-6 which was originally a P100 until a lightening strike blew out the MB. So I guess the machine is underpowered, but it dosen't make any difference, I've yet to have a bad burn on my Liteon 32x and it seems to take any of the cheap CDs. I did do some online research before buying, and all I can say is there are some pretty bad stuff out there also the odd "Name Brand"(expensive) writers that were pretty ordinary in the performance department. Incidentally it was my first hardware purchase online and I got great service and price. |
