| 62612 | 2002-07-24 01:35:00 | i dont no if my chipset is via or not (and is the chipset another name for motherbord) any way i'll give u much information about my computer as i can so u can help fix my problem my chipset is a gigabyte kt266a chipset with dual bios and it also says on the box its atlon xp ready, fully over clockable and have a jumperless design and i have a atlonxp 1.4 clockspeed processor an asus 64mb geforce ll mx400 apg vga card and a 230w power supply i'll rebrief my game problems 1. the game freezes 2. the sound repeats constantly 3.this happens about 4-5 times a day |

| 62616 | 2002-07-24 07:27:00 | yes, the 761 chipset fixed all problems, where my old chipset was a kt266a what happened was i sent the pc back to the seller, they replaced the motherboard and then sent it back to me. i'm not sure of price differences between the two motherboards, but the supplier should tell you if you ask. if the new one is cheaper than the old one you should be entitled to a refund (as a bonus). of course, if the new motherboard is more expensive then you may be asked to pay the difference. i would advise you to take the whole pc back to the supplier, demonstrate the problems while you are there (if possible). then tell them of the advice you have recieved on pressf1 and ask them to test the different sort of motherboard. all this will be free under warranty. good luck |
