| 62684 | 2002-07-15 02:51:00 | Just lately I have been getting the following message when Windows O/S kicks in at Start Up. Could someone please explain what I am being told and how do I fix it. WINDOWS Terminating thread due to a stack overflow problem.A VxD,possibly recently installed, has consumed too much stack space.Increase the settings of "Min SPs' " in SYSTEM.INI or remove recently installed VxDs' There are currently 5 SPs allocated. Press any key to continue. In advance many thanks to whoever can help.Earl Green |

| 62685 | 2002-07-15 03:19:00 | ms answer "To resolve this situation, add the following line to the [386Enh] section of the System.ini file and then restart your computer: MinSPs=4 If the problem persists, increase the number of spare stack pages in increments of 4 (for example, 8, 12, 16). NOTE: Each spare stack page requires 4 kilobytes of memory" |

| 62687 | 2002-07-15 09:35:00 | Go to "start" - "run" type "sysedit" (no quotes) That will give you a cascade of pages in notepad editor. Close all but the system.ini one. Look for the [386Enh] area as detailed by tweak'e Add the line "MinSPs=4" (no quotes) directly under the [386Enh] go File-save-File-exit reboot. Try not to add anything else or accidentally modify anything else or it can cause problems. |
