| 62957 | 2002-07-16 02:27:00 | i recently loaded opera and used it for a couple of months, then decided to go back to using ie5.5 so i uninstalled opera. now ie wont work. i can logon ok but the browser cant find anything at all. i've tried the restore defaults button, i've reinstalled ie5.5, upgraded to ie6 but still no joy. also other applications that access the web, like medved quote tracker dont work help |

| 62959 | 2002-07-16 05:38:00 | To check Proxy server setting With Internet Explorer open select Tools/Internet Options Click on Connections tab at the top Make sure your ISP connection is showing as the default. Make sure "always dial my default connection" has the dot in it. Click Apply Click on Settings.(Under Add/Remove) Remove the tick from any boxes on this page, especially Proxy server. Click Okay It is possible this problem is being caused by a firewall, have you got Zone Alarm installed. Some Antivirus software can also cause this, try deactivating antivirus. |
