| 63644 | 2002-07-20 00:12:00 | When Win98 boots up I get an error saying "Windows did not detect a mouse attached to the system....". I shut down, pull out the mouse plug, put it back in, boot it up again. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 attempts but it is usually ok and works fine for a couple of days. I've tried 4 different mice including a MS cordless. The only mouse that works fine all the time is a cheap $10.00 Dexxa from Bond & Bond. Daah ! why ? Tried changing drivers etc. Thoughts anyone ? |

| 63645 | 2002-07-20 01:03:00 | What sort of mouse? PS/2 ... serial? I had MAJOR problems reformatting my computer last week. It was a PS2 mouse causing the problem. Swapped to a serial mouse and all is fine. Whether it was the mouse or the port is open to question but the mouse has ended up in a drawer and the PS/2 port disabled in BIOS. Permanently. When I posted here Bruce said he'd met the same problem a few years back. So we know it's happened to 2 people. |
