Do you have automatic updates enabled, which would require the PC to connect to the net to access the windows update site? Have you run adaware to check for spyware/adware which may be "phoning home" Have you got autoupdate enabled for your antivirus software? |

I'm sure godfather wouldn't mind you incorporating his suggestions if you credit them to him. I think FAQ #12a How do I stop my internet connection from trying to connect automatically? or something like that will do. Thanks! :-) |

At the moment though, it appears that the information actually needs verifying . As far as being a Mac Man goes, since when have Mac users actually been unwelcome here? This is a computer help forum, even if 99% of the visitors might be PC users . Macs are still computers, as far as I'm aware . I have no problem with you using a Mac whilst contributing PC advice, as long as that advice is correct, and in my opinion anyone here who is offended is utterly childish . Sure, people joke about Macs and rib their users but show me where on this page/forum that it actually says Mac users are not welcome . |
