| 63478 | 2002-07-19 04:18:00 | Hi I am attempting to network 2 Win2K machines using NETBEUI. I have setup the network ID for machine #1 [CDNERO] and joined the workgroup [Test1], machine #2 [DIGICOM] is also joined to workgroup Test1, I have also enabled file and print sharing as well as client for MS Networks. The problem is that although CDNero can find Digicom it will not allow access to any shared folders etc. Machine 2 [Digicom] cannot even find machine 1 [CDNero]. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the services, protocols etc on both machines several times ending up with the same result. Can anyone help? |

You will need to have an account on both machines with the same username and password. I'd suggest connecting to the remote machine via a UNC path eg \\computername\c$ the C$ share will be present though invisible in the network neighbourhood due to the $ sign. Once you have TCP/IP installed you can attempt to ping each computer from the other by computer name. If it resolves to an IP and replies then you're pretty much sorted. |
