63475 2002-07-19 03:01:00 I have just finished rebuilding my comp. The only thing in the box that was in my old one is the cd-rw.
Being cheeky and looking for a fight with Microsoft I installed the copy of XP that I have had for six months. When I decided to try and activate it I was floored when I received the "activated" message.
I am wondering now if activation is just a big joke. If activation was serious it should have detected a new computer, and as it had run on another comp, rejected it.

63476 2002-07-19 03:09:00 Rumours are that MS are more lenient than you believe, and that after a few months the activation is reset. This may be what you have observed, also the rumours suggest you can activate more than once for reasons just like you have. godfather (25)
