| 63818 | 2002-07-21 06:07:00 | I was just going to suggest the same as Jim, so do try that before my next suggestion . I assume you're handy with editing the registry by now, so try this: Go to Start/run, and type Regedit Drill down to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs Highlight 'TypedUrls' . Now remove the items you want to get rid of in the right pane . Close Regedit . Another way to do the same job as above is the following, if you prefer: Copy the following bold text to Notepad, and save as Urls . reg REGEDIT4 [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs] Doubleclick it, and answer 'yes' to have it merged into the registry . Fingers crossed X X X X that something here does the job . Let us know . |

| 63819 | 2002-07-22 00:11:00 | The day has come!!! I switched of the autocomplete feature from IE...so it appears to be all over... I also tr4ied your suggestion, Susan, and created a Url.reg which was successfully merged into my registry. However, when I turned on the autocomplete feature in IE (as a test) the URL came back. Hey, but I can live with having the feature turned off...:-) Thanks everybody for all your help! I am eternally grateful to each and everyone of you...:-) Thanx, Brian |
