DISAGREE, I have seen so many systems in the past with crap cpus but good vid cards. The performance gain wasn't satisfied. But when the cpus were upgraded, the performance went up.

As i said earlier, you'll get better performance but not by much since your cpu is kinda slow.

63771 2002-07-21 07:01:00 I agree there will be a difference for me from a crud card to a Geforce but if I had a better CPU I would get more productive results.......

I think I might stick with my Geforce 256 with 32mb of DDR Ram! Unless I see a good reason to change - but on the benchmarks on a site (Link Posted Before) The Geforce 256 with DDR Ram out performaced the MX's by far!

exactly ;-)

to compare systems you need to run the same exact benchmarks at the exact same settings before you can compare.

63774 2002-07-22 06:39:00 Jeeze 20fps how often that happen...... Gigo (1128)
63775 2002-07-22 06:53:00 800x600 resolution.

it's good enough for gf2 mx. i get round 60fps when there are alot of players and smoke and 99fps normally.

63776 2002-07-22 07:15:00 How great is a cheap Geforce 4 MX? Gigo (1128)
63777 2002-07-22 09:51:00 In my opinion, you'd be better to wait untill the Geforce5 comes out (should be no more than a few months) as the price of the other geforces will drop quite a bit, and you may be able to get a good geforce4 for the price of a decent geforce2 today.

63778 2002-07-22 10:02:00 My info is a few months old but i found that the Mx400 was best price/performance for most work.

if you are a super hame head then wait for G-force 5 as stated above.

the Mx400 works well for all games i have tried.

and alwasy shop around because i found $100 diffrence between two shops on the same card!
