| 63869 | 2002-07-20 13:01:00 | Some screen resolutions at my web site I have had 240 * 320 (a new toy or a old computer with core memory) 640 * 480 768 * 1024 800 * 600 960 * 720 1024 * 768 1152 * 864 1280 * 1024 1600 * 1200 3072 * 768 (someone has a wide screen monitor) but at echoecho they only have. 52% 800x600 34% 1024x768 03% 640x480 03% 1280x1024 03% 1152x864 <1% 1600x1200 |

And the only resolutions which core memory computers knew about were 80 and 132. That's how wide (in characters) the screen on your terminal was. Those were the "resolutions" of most of the real computers with dynamic semiconductor memory, too. Those buggers with 132 upset everyone else, because their emails had to be reformatted in an editor to make them readable. I still say that the best format for transfering information from one computer to another is the 80 column card format. (Preferably with no characters after field 72). |
