64125 2002-07-22 00:15:00 When I try to save a Word doc as html, i get messsage "Selected text converter is an old version and does not work with the current version of word. Reinstall the converter and try again. Also, when I try the Word Help File, the Office Assistant indicates "The Office Assistant cannot answer your questions. Run Setup again".

I have Win 98SE. IE 6.0.2600.0000 and Word 97 SR-2. Are yhere updated files that will overcome these problems?

Many thanks for your response. I now appear to have my Word Help Assistant but am still getting a no-go with the Save as HTML situation.

64128 2002-07-22 10:50:00 garyasta,

Have you tried looking through Word97 Support (support.microsoft.com). There may be something on there for you. There are a number of articles re "Converter Is an Old Version Error Trying to Convert" type. Also if you have installed FrontPage this can also cause the problem with Word 97; the fix for that would be to reinstall the Word97 service pack/service release 1 or 2 depending on your situation.

Cheers, Babe.

64129 2002-07-22 11:56:00 Hi Babe
I have tried Word97 Support and was not able to get satisfactory results. I don't have FrontPage and I already have SR-2 installed but have heard that (I now have IE6) during installing IE4.01(sometime back now!), something could have happened to the system, with the html converter going missing. I am not sure how or where I can download the specific converter to rectify this.
Thanks
Garyasta
