64222 2002-07-22 05:42:00 I have been sent some design work done in Publisher but I can't open it. Is there anywhere I can download publisher from - or alternatively how do I open it without an image editing programme? Thanks denise (1155)
64223 2002-07-22 05:53:00 I highly doubt you will find somewhere to download from (except maybe in a trial version), you'll probably have to buy it. Try TradeMe (http://www.trademe.co.nz), or buy it from somewhere like Dick Smiths. honeylaser (814)
64224 2002-07-22 05:57:00 You can buy a trial from the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com) if you don't wish to pay the full amount for a full copy... a Publisher 97 trial is downloadable here (www.ecsis.net) or here (www.ausmall.com.au). honeylaser (814)
64225 2002-07-22 12:26:00 not sure, but don't the newer pub files need the same version program they were created in to be seen or editied? so a pub 2000 file can't be seen in pub 97? is my logic wrong or right? i'm not sure.

cheers,

64226 2002-07-22 12:38:00 I think you may be right vk, after all it wouldn't make sense to make a product that works with older versions, otherwise youwouldn't pay for the new one. Good ol' Microsoft..
On another note, You could try file conversion..I don't have a program handy that could do it, but I can almost guarentee there would be one that can convert it to text format.. Or if you're lucky you might be able to save it in a different format as an attachment, I'm not sure though.. just a thought :)

64227 2002-07-23 04:47:00 I think that if the sender wants you to read the stuff, it's up to them to send it in a form which is readable, without making you spend hundreds for a proprietary package .

How much do you want to read it? How much does the sender want you to read it?

I would ask for the information in a usable form .
