| 64192 | 2002-07-22 05:25:00 | I am trying to download the msn chat software to be able to chat on msn but cannot get it downloaded at all. I have tried the help options given but to no avail. Can anyone tell me how I can download the msn chat software successfully. Yes I have Msn Messenger the latest version. I operate Windows 98SE and I have Nortons SystemWorks 2001. |

| 64195 | 2002-07-22 12:42:00 | If you talking about the msn chat control 'ocx', this is what you do to delete the current control, which will be updated when you next enter msn chat. Either: - In Internet Explorer, click Tools / Internet Options - Click the Settings tab in the Temporary Internet Files section - Click the View Objects button or... - Use Windows Explorer and nagivate to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files then: - Right Click MSN Chat Control and select Remove Close this window, then click OK on all remaining Internet Options windows to close them all. Close any remaining IE windows. You may also wish to lower your security settings as they apply to msn chat. - In Internet Explorer, click Tools / Internet Options - Click the Security tab , then Trusted Sites (Green Tick) - Click the Sites button - Type in http://chat.msn.com in the Add this web site to the Zone, then click Add - Click OK, click OK Open a new IE window, and go back to msn chat, where you will be prompted to download a new chat control. I'd use Windows washer to do it, but assuming you don't have it, download it anyway ^_^ Back to the point though.. Delete yer TIF and you should be able to work it..once that thing screws up, it wont come right. At least that was how it was for me. |
