1307065 2012-10-15 22:20:00 Morning all i would like to know about shrinking a volume, i have a 120gb(formatted to ntfs becomes 111gb) hard drive which 40.9gb of it has been used so there is 70.7gb free.I would like to make a 40gb partion to test windows 8, i realise i could do a virtual machine but it crashes and says cpu requires vt-x thank you in advance print screen attached if it helps :help: :)

1307066 2012-10-15 22:56:00 Shrink C by 40gb - 40960 mb. You should then have 40gb of unallocated space. Right click on that (the unallocated space) and select 'create new partition'. Name it something like Z, and you should be good to go. Nick G (16709)
