1283579 2012-06-23 11:46:00 Hi, does anyone have experience with these? Which companies can you recommend and are they professional? Do they take the merchandise out and repackage it or do they box in a box? Nomad (952)
1283580 2012-06-23 11:50:00 Where are you talking about? In NZ or overseas forwarding companies? Iantech (16386)
1283581 2012-06-23 11:56:00 Wanting to purchase something from the USA who then redirects to NZ. Nomad (952)
1283582 2012-06-23 12:15:00 I use ShipItTo, havent had a problem to date and very affordable for the things I have bought in. They usually keep it in the same packaging and slap a dedirect sticker with your own details on it (and a customs sticker etc). Iantech (16386)
1283583 2012-06-23 12:32:00 Not related to this transaction but ..

Just wondering - given at times there is free postal to the US (locally), and that if the seller does ship to NZ the fee could be quite expensive. In your experience could these parcel forwarding companies have more competitive pricing than the shop itself.

1283584 2012-06-23 13:12:00 I posted this over in another thread...

"Had a parcel from the US recently, they wanted $108 USD to send it FedEx to NZ, I got it shipped locally to ShipItTo for $8 USD and they charged $13 USD to ship it to my door."

It was for some clothing (with an embroided logo) that I couldnt get here, the online store would only ship using FedEx or DHL (just as bad). So that was a big shipping saving and made the purchace worthwhile, no way in hell was I going to pay $108 USD for shipping, the items didnt cost that much.

It may not be the case for everything you buy, I know I can buy somethings online and get them sent here cheaper direct than going in 2 hops (local to forwarder, forwarder to home), I just use it for when either the seller has a sky-high shipping price, or the seller doesnt ship to NZ. It pays to do your sums first :)

BTW, its actually Shipito - not as I spelled it previous.

There are other forwarders, but thats who I use at the moment.

1283585 2012-06-23 15:58:00 I use shipito and have an upgraded account with them. Well worth it if you ask me! Chilling_Silence (9)

I just wonder how does it work with the credit card. I haven't been able to buy some things and have read similar on this forum?

You pay for your item with your CC and with CC for forwarding service (shipping costs, fees etc). I know Shipito also accept paypal, so you could use that if you didnt have a CC and have a paypal account.

Chill, have you seen their new rates? $50 per year now for virtual mailbox.
$2.50 processing fee + postage
Processing fee is paid for each package received. No mail out fee.
Free storage for up to 90 days
Consolidation available (save on postage)

Pretty good I thought.
