| 1308030 | 2012-10-23 00:56:00 | The input to Audacity can be a bit of a black art on some computer motherboards Thats an understatement :lol: Gave up on Audacity a long time ago, some PC's it works some it wont. Now I use one that I brought over 10 years ago, and bugger me the license key still worked on the latest version. Its calledtotalrecorder (www.totalrecorder.com) I got the standard vesion. When setting up its wizard cant be any simpler, it asks how you want to record and what source, Eg: from same source as speakers (words to that effect) it works great where Audacity wouldn't even look at it. If you can hear sounds from the speakers it will record what ever you are playing. |

| 1308031 | 2012-10-23 03:57:00 | Ok...I managed to do a recording. Or so I thought. Upon Playback I only got, what I assume to be , background noise. So for the moment I am giving up on Audacity. Does anybody havw the name of a simple, free equivalent programme? PJ |

Either way: Make sure you have the right input selected in Windows as per these instructions: www.youtube.com and Audacity correctly configured as per these: www.youtube.com |

| 1308034 | 2012-10-23 05:15:00 | Tried that Free Sound Recorder once, worked nice for awhile that was until one day I installed some updated sound drivers, and after that it went like Audacity and didn't work no matter what was changed.
