2012-10-20 05:24:00 | In that case yes, I'd create a third partition for Windows 7. | pcuser42 (130) | |
2012-10-20 06:37:00 | Okay, thanks, but how do I make it, dual boot? | ianhnz (4263) | |
2012-10-20 06:40:00 | It'll do that after Win7 has been installed. It'll let you select what OS you want to boot from | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

Format the whole hdd (thats in the case now),with the XP cd. And create 3-4 partitions. Then reinstall XP then its updates Then boot from the Win7 DVD, then install Win7 When you get to the setup screen in XP and and Windows 7, you can format / partition a hdd |

2012-10-20 06:51:00 | I've got EASEUS Partition Master 9.1.1 Professional Edition which I used to make the extra partition I have now. Was quite simple, I think, from memory...

2012-10-20 06:56:00 | Well make another one. Make sure they're big enough for Windows and whatever you install | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2012-10-20 19:05:00 | You say you have XP on one partition and Documents etc on another. How big is each partition? What you might do is transfer your Documents etc back into the XP system leaving the extra partition empty. If necessary us Easus to make the second partition large enough to accomodate Win7 - say 250G if the HDD is 500G. Then you could install Win7 onto the empty partition and copy back the Documents to Win7 at a later date. The system will automatically setup the ability for you to select either XP or Win7 just after the logon routine. You do have a valid key for Win7 don't you?
