| 1307279 | 2012-10-17 23:26:00 | Wait, I NEED a switch/hub? I thought it said it works better if I have one (but wasn't necessary?). If I need one then I'm out of luck because I don't have one. DeSade, I haven't been with Telecom for broadband for years and the person I'm trying to set it up for isn't with them either. Will they still replace it? The router is as old as anything. Yes without a switch it wouldn't work for me as the recovery program basically runs a tftp server locally and the router pulls it down as part of the special boot process. If you did not have a switch/hub in between the link on the PC will go down when the router reboots and the server process gets killed. So I had to use a hub/switch in between. You can try with an another router in between if you don't have a switch or hub. Also as I said earlier I have recovered Gen II only and not the Gen I 604T |
