Yes resin printers start around $5000 and then go up in price from there to huge amounts where as a filament printer can be built for around $700 or bought as a kit for about $1200 |

Yes but Shapeways etc makes it for you, you don't have to buy the printer. |

I've never used Shapeways but they look pretty good.
I do hope to build myself a RepRap of some kind one day though, they look pretty damn useful. |
