1283767 2012-06-27 00:20:00 If backing to numerous CD's you may want a software catalogue utility. Disclib (www.lyrasoftware.com) may come in handy to easily reference CD's to quickly search what tracks are on each CD.

LOL, backing up to CD, are you serious, 153GB, 70GB Video...it would cost me 50 disc's!......Its all on a mirrored NAS now KC, I have another external drive to backup the NAS

Yeah I am. Depends how and where you use your music compilation. e.g. if mainly archiving with occasional playing at home, or playing regularly many of them, away from home. Mate of mine runs a DJ business. Did not want to take any external drives (his partial lively hood) for some functions, hence create CD's on the fly, by quickly finding which CD's (or recreate) to use (including as backups when playing (from laptop) to large audiences, from the CD database on his PC.

If playing at relative comfort and safety at home, internal/external storage drives would suit as compared to certain offsite premises in some cases.

1283770 2012-07-01 07:33:00 Flac is the way I go. All my cd's are ripped to flac, and same goes for my needle-drops (vinyl transfers) goodiesguy (15316)
