1307519 2012-10-18 21:53:00 Hi guys
Just moved in to a friends house they have a Telecom Technicolor modem model TG582n.

It has a wireless light, but I am used to seeing wireless modems with a small black aerial. This one does not have an aerial.
Is it internal ?

1307521 2012-10-18 22:22:00 It's internal, I have one of these modem/routers from Telecom and so far it does all I expected including complete coverage of the entire garden whilst using my laptop on wireless. zqwerty (97)
1307522 2012-10-18 22:42:00 It's a pretty good, stable freebie. bk T (215)
1307523 2012-10-18 23:45:00 Stable freebie?! Hahaha funny guy :D

I wouldn't touch the things. They're *marginally* better than the TG585's etc but it's still not worth losing hair over in my experience. Another one of the "Great if you have *very* minimal and basic usage requirements".

But yeah there's either two or three antenna inside it, I can't recall, it's been a while since I cracked one open to have a look.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this Technicolor wireless router for an average home user!

1307525 2012-10-19 07:49:00 We have 4 computers on our TG582n Router, 2 wired and 2 on wireless. I can be downloading flat out (lol), 1MB/s for an hour or so, my Grandson watching uTube videos, my daughter eMailing, browsing, and generally using the Internet, we don't notice any slowdowns or delays ever. zqwerty (97)
1307526 2012-10-19 07:50:00 Yep we use the vodafone equivilant and it does all it should runs 3 wired desktops and a file server + various wireless devices perfectly well for something we got for free gary67 (56)
1307527 2012-10-19 08:07:00 It's not the slowdowns, it'll just "stop working", but I'm going off-topic here :p Chilling_Silence (9)
1307528 2012-10-19 08:37:00 A very good example of "PERCEPTION", it's hard to change once you got it with you.

This topic has been discussed in great length every now and then in this forum.

If anyone who thinks that this piece of freebie is crap, don't use it; and , if you think that it's absolutely OK, continue using it. Simple as that!

Just like, if you like Coca Cola, go and get a Coke otherwise, go and get a Pepsi, or whatever.
