1307346 2012-10-17 03:47:00 I updated Mozilla Thunderbird today and since doing so, I have been getting this error:

Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server pop3.xtra.co.nz responded: Incorrect username or password. (#YSH001)

Have entered the password it fails to send.

Any ideas as to what is wrong?

1307347 2012-10-17 04:49:00 What if you go to xtra and enter yr details? kjaada (253)
1307348 2012-10-17 08:57:00 That sounds like a problem my next door neighbour had a few days ago. We went into Xtra and logged on and then it seemed to be OK. Doesn't make sense, but FWIW... Tony (4941)
1307349 2012-10-17 20:01:00 Did you put your username in (without xtra.co.nz) at the end of it? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1307350 2012-10-17 21:54:00 If you have solved the problem do tell us how??? kjaada (253)
1307351 2012-10-18 02:04:00 Well I rang Telecom last night and they told me that the email account was suspended for sending out spam. For some reason the Xtra email account was apparently sending spam. The person that has the account doesn't know how to even spam anybody. Had 3 emails with failure to send notices come in and they have been in German. Currently running Malwarebytes and so far it has found 111 objects.

Any ideas as to what is causing the spam emails to be sent?

1307352 2012-10-18 03:46:00 Presumably some of the malware it is infected with. Nick G (16709)

There was 121 infected objects and they have been removed. Also called Xtra again to see what else could be done.

Possibly/Probably some has been missed. Tried running some other programs such as superantispyware, NOD32 online scanner?
