1469195 2020-06-02 05:42:00 That is good to hear.

It appears that it will be as easy to set up as my previous inkjets Pretty much, its usually download the full software ( that way its completely upto date) Install, the hardest part is deciding how you want to connect (USB, Ethernet/network or Wireless). Every time I've done it, (I select network as that's how its connected) it locates the printer, and away it goes.

Windows 10 usually Will pick it up automatically, But I find its best to use the downloaded software that way you get all the features.

1469197 2020-06-03 05:44:00 Finally got it. I it is a bit short on cords. It stipulates a USB 2.0 cable (Type A/B) I presume I can use my USB cable from my old inkjet, or do you recommend just using Wi-Fi. Pato (2463)

I am using wireless connection. That is something I haven't had with a printer previously. I guess that is why no USB cable. When in doubt 'read the manual' eh?

1469200 2020-06-03 06:01:00 That is something I haven't had with a printer previously. I guess that is why no USB cable. When in doubt 'read the manual' eh? They haven't included USB cables for some time now. There's various ways to connect printers and you can bet if they included a USB cable it would either be to short or To long, OR like myself not needed as I use Ethernet, so its a waste of money and cables.

To quote on Brothers site:
Brother doesn't include USB cables with its printers, fax machines, or Multifunction Centers (MFC) because there are often multiple ways to connect these machines to a computer or network, and we are unable to anticipate which of these connection methods you will use. Including multiple cables for multiple connection types would unnecessarily contribute to environmental waste. Brother is committed to conserving the global environment.

1469201 2020-06-03 06:29:00 That makes sense. And you suggest not to bother with the "Installer for Drivers and Utilities "but download the full software from the Brother site? Pato (2463)
1469202 2020-06-03 07:44:00 That makes sense. And you suggest not to bother with the "Installer for Drivers and Utilities "but download the full software from the Brother site? I always get the full installer from manufactures sites. The CD that comes with printers could be months or a year or so out of date, there may be newer, better drivers than whats on the CD and the inbuilt windows doesn't download the full package (Usually)

Hope this link works drivers for that Printer. support.brother.com
