1469024 2020-05-28 22:04:00 Win10 version 2004 update

"Microsoft is also blocking the Windows 10 2004 update for PCs with Intel integrated graphics processing units"
Integrated Intel graphics eh. Not many of those around

"Microsoft's own Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3 could be seeing errors and unexpected shutdowns after installing Windows 2004 due to an issue with the Always On, Always Connected feature"
Not even tested on MS's own laptops . Thats a good sign . Our faith in MS getting the basics right is 100%

Issues with OLD (4years) version of NVidia drivers .... OK,fair enough, MS cant be expected to test every version of every driver .

Im guessing the biggest issue will be the size of that update & people with slow ADSL internet .
Why the need for 2-3Gb size updates ? The majority of people (non techies) dont want or need these huge updates on what were 100% functioning PC's .

1469025 2020-05-28 23:34:00 I'll wait a couple of weeks for the bugs to get fixed before I install it on my wife's laptop. paulw (1826)
1469026 2020-05-29 00:17:00 Personally, I think its' a miracle that so many machines do work fine considering the multitude of hardware devices and the variable state or version of their drivers.

It may be a while for my laptop as it has the integrated Intel GPU. Wife's probably has as well.

Still, no problem with a delay - gives us plenty of time to check the disk images are up to date!

1469027 2020-05-29 04:34:00 Just updated my old standby PC to Ver 2004 (OS Build 19041.264).

Went through smoothly without any issues, took just under 30min to complete. A bit surprised.

Everything works as it should. Noticeably faster in starting Windows.

How the average John and Jane doe get on when it turns to brown stuff is beyond me.Simple, they call Computer repair companies, or people who actually KNOW what they are doing not "think" they do. The amount of times I've had to repair computers because the Local "Expert" Stuffed things up badly or simply doesn't have a clue is amazing.
