64634 2002-07-23 12:44:00 Just so you know, I am new to linux and have just installed red hat 7.3 (I got sick of xp crashing so much!), the install went fine however I am stuck with this problem: Where is the volume control in KDE?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Liam.

64635 2002-07-23 20:08:00 Hopefully you have found it by now, but you should have a multimedia menu with the KDE Mixer app in there somewhere. Pretty sure it's called "kmix" (kmixer?) so entering that from the command line should start it too. Linatux (828)

A nifty speaker has popped up in the 'system tray' area as well!

Cheers

64637 2002-07-23 23:00:00 Another question: I have turned up the volume in the kmix (which has made things a lot louder) but when I use kscd (the cd player) it says "Vol: 40%" even though kmix is turned up full on cd, speaker and volume. I cant seem tho find where you can change this volume setting in kscd, can it be changed?

Cheers

Liam.

64638 2002-07-24 03:34:00 How about having a look at the "kscd Handbook"? Rather than type it in myself and get it wrong, I'll just give you a hint: google, search for "kscd volume". ;-) Graham L (2)
64639 2002-07-24 12:58:00 Sorry for the stupid post, I noticed the volume slider in kscd just after I hit submit.

Cheers.
