Select the folder to use and do the same to each users Outlook Express
All mail will now be downloaded to the same folder and accessible by all users.

While I'm at it, anyway of doing the same with internet explorer?

I've tried that and I get an error message when the person is set to a limited account. It seems to work OK if they are set to the administrator setting.

64517 2002-07-31 13:08:00 Hi Marion, i am pretty sure that you can't do it in limited accounts, as you stated you have no probs in admin. accounts and that is the whole point to having limited accounts - to limit what they can do!! I could be wrong and hope for your sake i am but as far as i know that is the case with limited accounts. Sorry i couldn't be of more help! Lets hope somebody knows something we don't! J ZEP (336)
64518 2002-07-31 22:11:00 Thanks J Zep. You may be right and that's what I was wondering. But what's the point of having a limited account - presumably so that on a home PC like ours, only one person can fool around with the system stuff. I was looking to give limimted access to the family so that it minimised the chances of things being altered, while only wanting to use one email account for us all (cause we've only got one). Perhaps I don't undertstand the limited account aspect enough. I would have thought that it would make sense to have the ability for a limited account to be able to do this. Marion (1174)
64519 2002-08-02 06:38:00 Hi Again Marion
Well i just did a test on our limited account for you - and the answer is yes not a prob!!! I hadn't set it up for e-mail as its just used for my godson when he is here - so anyway i set it up not a prob (he has a limited acc) and sent not a prob, so i am wondering if you have set it up wrong somehow? You do want other limited users to be able to send and receive mail don't you? But under the one e-mail account?(yours) I twigged last night to where you might be going wrong - with the setting it up.
Anyway get back to me and we will check your settings are right! I am thinking you may have just set it up wrong somehow first time around so maybe if you delete the first account set up and start again, could be your first option! Just remember everything is set to the same as your other account! Apart from the Name of the person who's account name will be on it when they send mail. Anyway any questions get back to me, not a prob! :-)

64520 2002-08-03 04:54:00 Marion, what you probably did was try and get the limited account to access the OE file in your Admin account, which XP won't allow. Maybe try making it so OE stores the files in a different folder that everyone can access. Maybe make a new folder on your Hard Disk called Email and point OE to store the email there, and then point the other users OE's to that directory too. Should work that way :) Matt_NZ (841)
