64521 2002-07-23 06:53:00 everytime i try to close my web browser or anything else that is connected to the internet it asks if i want to close my connection to paradise how do i stop this? Brad H (738)
64522 2002-07-23 07:49:00 depends on browser, but IE6 is tools-internet options-connection-settings-advanced-untick the box "close connection when it may not be needed" godfather (25)
64523 2002-07-24 05:03:00 thanks again godfather but that didn't do it anyone else got other suggestions? Brad H (738)
64524 2002-07-24 05:10:00 hmmm...think there is something in dial-up-networking that does it?

Trouble is I have broadband via a router here so no dial-up adapters I can check.

64525 2002-07-24 05:44:00 You should swap PCs with me because I've got my option ticked but when I disconnect it doesn't offer to close the internet connection.

You can have mine as long as yours is faster. :D

Maybe you need to delete your DUN and recreate it again? Make sure you write down the phone numbers and other settings first though.

64526 2002-07-24 05:49:00 In advanced settings - just tick the box "disconnect if idle for etc" untick the other one. Doesn't make sense, but it works.
Bye

64527 2002-07-24 05:54:00 This may only be in Win ME

Double-click on My Computer, then double-click on Dial-Up Networking.
Right-click on the connection icon and choose Properties.
Click on Dialing tab
Uncheck box Disconnect when connection may not be needed

If Win 95/98 and Internet options/connections/settings/advanced does not work.
