65242 2002-07-25 09:28:00 A wee while ago i saw a computer case that had special perspex sides, and an internal strip light. It seems everyone who has seen it wants one, but they are not an off the shelf component ?:| !!!!
What i'm interested to see is how many people would go for a case where it's possible to see the pretty inside wires cards and stuff?

65243 2002-07-25 09:31:00 Hell yeah, I think it would be great. Be neat to let the kids see what's inside the box without opening it up. Naturally, this is my only reason for wanting one. . .. Biggles (121)
65244 2002-07-25 09:35:00 Well I did buy a see through mouse because I liked the pretty colours in the wires . Thought it looked really cool!

Trouble was, it was all cheap plastic with rough edges . It ate the wire - or at any rate broke one or two of them .

Cases? What are you trying to do? Out mac the macs?

65245 2002-07-25 09:38:00 I would say so. I don't think it would be very hard to make perspex cases. I would be making them by now if had the money for startup costs... or even if I had the money to make one... Elwin Way (229)
65246 2002-07-25 09:46:00 Yeah, ONLY to let the kids see what's inside, Emphasis on Kids and Only!!!!
Hey, If you guys do make them - Let me know where I can pick one up from aye, how about tinting one of them also, like pink or something retro! hehehe

65247 2002-07-25 09:52:00 Actually, the lid's off mine at the moment . Not a pretty sight (although it is quite fun watching the little light blink on the sky media card .

Now if guys REALLY want to design a computer case for women - what about putting some of the ports on the FRONT of the machine? Or the side where they are accessible?

I finally moved the desk into an open space so that I can get at the back easily .

65248 2002-07-25 09:53:00 I can think of an easy way to tint them. Just not too sure if its going to be a marketing idea or if I just let everyone know so they can do it themselves..

:D

(I'll give you a clue - I used to work in the roadsign industry...)

Why this is so rarely done is one of the great unsolved mysteries of the universe ...

65250 2002-07-25 09:55:00 If you have a Tower Tin Box why not remove the side panels & replace with Perspex or somesuch in the good old Kiwi No 8 fashion. Maybe the top panel as well? Helpful? Poppa John. Oopps Polite Poppa John ;\ ;\ Poppa John (284)
65251 2002-07-25 09:56:00 Well you know my opinion on that Chris! :D

Don't ask me why they don't make off-the-shelf see-thru cases, but I reckon a lot of people haven't demanded them because they don't know about them or that you can custom-make your own .

I myself didn't know about it until I looked at a link on building your own PC in one of tweak'e's news posts . I instantly fell in love with that one and vowed that by hook or by crook I'm gonna have one . . . .

Everyone I know loves the see-thru coloured Macs but they're not quite the same as a good window, are they?

Going to set yourself up in business, eh Chris? :D
