| 65238 | 2002-07-25 09:25:00 | Can any one tell me what Svchost.exe is and what it is used for My firewall says it is asking to access the internet on various ports and remote addresses ie port 1900 address 239.255.255.250 port 67 address 192.168.0.1 port68 address 255.255.255.255 Should I give it access or not Cheers Jim B |

See link Anything that looks dodgy in this list can be looked up in google to see what it does, or is able to do Port 1900 is Simple service discovery protocol Here is a link to some common ports: reports.lightspeedsystems.com Port 67 and Port 68 should be DHCP to and from your your ISP |
