| 64959 | 2002-07-24 13:04:00 | Any suggestions on how to find and change the settings for my battery-charger controller, on a COMPAQ Presario Laptop? I've recently had my Laptop's battery repacked and am now in the process of deep-discharge cycling it, to encourage full charge capacity. However, I've noticed that my laptop's programming seems to turn off the re-charging of the battery well before the battery achieves full charge. Like 92%, instead of 100%. As a result, I'm now looking for the program that controls whether the battery receives power from the charging circuit, so that I can try to determine how to re-set the level of charge, at which the circuit switches. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ron |

A-la MP3 player :D Anyway, to answer your question, as far as know, the level is controlled by hardware. Compaq are (IMOHO) useless when it comes to updates. All I can suggest is that the correct battery type is set, and that your power management settings are set to the same as desktop when on external power. |
