65516 2002-07-26 02:14:00 Thanks for the comments so far.

Found I 'lost' the powercfg.cpl file - power cofiguration settings in the control panel.

Copied that file from my Windows98 machine to my Windows Me machine.. reset all the settings to 'Never'.. and figured that should fix my Partial Shutdown. NOT!

So I don't think it's going into hibernation as has been sugested.

I still have the screen go blank, both power lights ON, and I still have to hold the power switch in for 4-5 seconds to completely shut down the PC.

BIOS maybe? Hardware maybe?

Any other ideas to cause with possible solutions welcome :)

65518 2002-07-26 06:07:00 Power control settings are in both the BIOS and the OS. Have a good look at the BIOS settings. (probably in "Advanced" section). Graham L (2)
