66000 2002-07-27 09:03:00 I didn't read your old post on the download problem, so what are your computer specs? Then I'll try help ya out :)
Also, do you Defragment often? It probably won't fix the problem, but it can't hurt it either.

66002 2002-07-27 09:36:00 Does this error message come up when you are online?

Does it happen on any particular site (such as Press F1) or does it happen on any site?

66003 2002-07-27 09:51:00 If you can, upgrade your version of IE to 6.2. This should fix it. If you have probs, let me know cos I'm going to see Merlin on Sat. I can fit you in as well. I'll bring my magic CD collection :D Elwin Way (229)
66004 2002-07-27 09:56:00 This happens when im online offline anytime yes i defrag regularly run adaware often too .. johnboy (217)
66005 2002-07-27 10:08:00 do you think it needs upgrading i just brought it in feb new ????? any help you can give is most welcome ... how do i upgrade it ??? johnboy (217)
66006 2002-07-27 10:19:00 Your error relates to explorer, not internet explorer, so it may not be relevant to upgrade it (and you are running XP I would say, so it is the latest.)

First thing I would do is go to Start-Run-type sfc <space> /scannow <enter>

This will scan all system files (system file check) and replace them if they are corrupted. You may need your XP CD or if pre-installed it may need to be pointed to the cab files on the hard drive (but may also find them automatically)

66007 2002-07-27 11:43:00 tried to run sfc scannow nothing happens ????? johnboy (217)
66008 2002-07-27 11:55:00 > tried to run sfc scannow nothing happens ?????

nothing? nothing at all?
if you get it wrong (like no / immediately before the scannow parameter you *may* see a brief flick of a dos window. If nothing at all appears to happen it means sfc must have tried to run, check your syntax. sfc /scannow

a space after "sfc" then "/scannow" with no spaces after the "/" then "enter" (no quotes)

If the sfc was wrong you would get an error window
