| 65943 | 2002-07-27 09:05:00 | Ok Billy, Ive done that. This what happens with my version. When the Scandisk tab is clicked a window opens which is greyed, the option boxes showing the hard drive partions are pre-ticked and cannot be changed. Also the 'Perform Surface Check' is greyed and inoperable. A message in white comes up which says 'please register to enable these functions', but clicking 'Begin' sets it working ok with no problems, ie. the computer re-starts into a very basic mode with just a backgound screen with no icons, runs scandisk, then re-boots. The registry fix option also has a greyed out window, and that does not work. |

Sounds like you have a registry problem if your defrag stops running , tennisplayer43 at hotmail dot com if you need any additional aid . |

| 65945 | 2002-07-28 17:01:00 | If you go to PowerDefrag.com, you can download PowerDefrag; a FREE utility that automatically restarts your computer in safe mode runs defragmenter, then restarts in windows again. I found it quite good. Vince | Vince (406) | ||

| 65947 | 2002-07-28 21:43:00 | Hi Terry Thanks for your help. My version is 2.01 and won't run scandisk. I guess if I want to try it I'll have to shell out the bucks. I knowit is only a process management program that runs the MS scandisk and defrag programs under optimum conditions but it would be nice to be able to click once then go away and leave it. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
