65815 2002-07-29 10:01:00 PC Anywhere costs money as well.

I;m sure there are free alternatives.

65816 2002-07-29 12:20:00 Yes PC Anywhere is not free but I can recommend it. I use it to manage 3 PCs and have never had a problem with it. I beleive there are free options out there. Try www.download.com and search for remote control and see what you find.
Cheers

65817 2002-07-29 12:36:00 Hello mt lorraine

Im not sure if Win ME home edition got Dial Up Server, cuz win98se have it...try using Dial Up Server...if WinMe has it..you have to install it using the Add Remove Programs in Control Panel...clik Windows Setup Tab then Communications then Add it.

If you want to learn this...just go to microsoft website use the search button ..just type in there...Dial Up Server.

65818 2002-07-29 22:16:00 Not sure if this will help but try http://www.tightvnc.com where they have a free remote control software. It runs on my WinME like a charm.

But I don't think WinMe has a RAS server component.

65819 2002-07-30 05:32:00 Have a look at this free one: remote.zip (ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/win95/network/remote.zip)

Only 1.1 MB in the zipped form. Looks OK, but I have not tried it.

This might be safer than some of the others --- it will be less likely for strangers to have it --- this is called security by obscurity . ;-)
