66162 2002-07-28 04:29:00 How do I stop my LaserJet 4 Plus from printing an extra page after each print job? It happens printing from applications as well as from the printer's own test menu PeterF (1095)
66163 2002-07-28 04:45:00 I'm not sure but go to control panel and go to the printer folder and then go to settings, and snoop around, maybe it's there.

cheers,

66164 2002-07-28 06:51:00 its called a separator page, buried in your printer setup. untick the option. godfather (25)
66165 2002-07-28 08:43:00 That is where I looked first, but that is not selected. PeterF (1095)
66166 2002-07-28 08:53:00 Dont have a LJ4, so cant comment. Sounds like its either a printer problem or in the on-board setup somewhere, make sure any settings via the menu have the right paper size selected?

If it happens on self-test then it should eliminate the PC driver *I think*.

Whats the history, always done it or just started, is it networked via a jetdirect or similar?

66167 2002-07-29 03:21:00 It might be in the printer's own menu setup (if an LJ4 has that!). This was often a problem with the early laser printers (especially PostScript) ones. Graham L (2)
66168 2002-07-30 06:35:00 Thanks Graham - it does have a variety of menus - do you have any specific suggestions? PeterF (1095)
66169 2002-07-30 06:37:00 Started recently after re-installing windows. Used to be OK. IT is a stand alone PC - with Win98SE PeterF (1095)
66170 2002-07-30 06:44:00 There is a conflict of issues here, as you state it does it even printing a test page from the menu on the printer itself? (That is, not from the PC at all?)

If so, it shouldnt relate to the PC operating system. If on the other hand if you mean "the test menu" under printers on the PC, we are all at cross purposes. On the printer menu on the PC is the only place you should be looking at this stage, double check here that the separator page is not selected, and that paper size is A4, remember to "apply" when exiting.

Please clarify what you mean by the printer test menu.

66171 2002-07-30 07:44:00 after you reinstalled windows, did you re-install the printer (you need to) and if so are you sure you have used the right driver? Just looked at the LJ4 printer setup and its straightforward godfather (25)
