65759 2002-07-26 12:56:00 How do I get MS VM? I reformatted my HDD and I need to get it again. When I want to go into a browser chatroom for example the normal "you need to download MS VM" thing pops up. So I click ok, a window comes up saying the main microsoft website no longer has it for download and to get it at Windows Update site. But the Windows Update site doesn't have it either.

Please Help..

65761 2002-07-26 13:42:00 sorry :8} thought that one had slipped through! no such luck - its all to do with that lawsuit happening over it!!! You should still be able to get it through windows update but maybe its even on hold there too cause of the lawsuit??? J ZEP (336)
65762 2002-07-26 13:45:00 Isn't the VM a form of java?

If so, you may be able to get around it by installing Opera - that comes with a Java installation. So does OpenOffice. Or you can get it from Sun, but their site is terrible to navigate.

65764 2002-07-27 00:01:00 I did a search for msjavx86.exe on Kazza and found someone that has it! Mr. Insanity (957)
65765 2002-07-27 00:16:00 I don't see why it wasn't on the Microsoft site, I'm sure it would been. Why would they remove it? I'm sure I downloaded it off there like a month ago for some reason. Naraku Kasai (1028)
65766 2002-07-27 05:57:00 The microsoft java vm is quite old because they aren't allowed to develop it anymore (their own fault).

You can get the current one from sun at:

java.sun.com
