66600 2002-07-29 22:47:00 I upgraded to SE Win98. I have to load high a dos program, but since the upgrade I have not been able to do this.

Typing "mem" I find no upper memory is allocated.

Could somebody tell me the parameters of the config.sys file that allows me to do this.

Thank you
Derek

66601 2002-07-29 22:58:00 Man this is a time warp for the brain. I believe you need the following ...

device = c:\windows\himem.sys
device = c:\windows\command\emm386.exe (you can put addional parameters like /noems after this if you want)
device = high, umb

You will have to check the path of the first two lines. Im at work at the mo so cant look up my old DOS book of knowledge.

cheers

66602 2002-07-30 20:17:00 correction...

device = c:\windows\command\himem.sys
device = c:\windows\command\emm386.exe
dos = high,umb

just check where himem.sys and emm386 are located. Cant remember if its just under windows or windows\command
