| 66297 | 2002-07-28 23:59:00 | As long as I have been using Windows dial-up, I have set the "save password" checkbox to remember my password and this has allowed Eudora to check mail automatically at preset periods. Yesterday for some mysterious reason, every time I attempted to go online the username and password dialog box flipped up. When I checked, I found that the save password dialog was no longer ticked and indeed was greyed out so as to prevent re-ticking. I wonder if anyone can suggest an effective remedy? I normally dial-up from a desktop icon and Eudora takes care of itself. Not a major disaster, but damned annoying! I am running Windows 98 SE and had not previously encountered a problem of this kind. I have checked the Registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Network\ Real Mode Net and auto logon does not show at all. How do I restore this? Your help greatly appreciated. |

I pulled and printed both sets of discussion and solutions and am pleased to say that I now have things back to normal. Now don't ask me exactly how I did it, but it seems to hinge around Resolution/method 1. When the Windows logon password logon dialogue box started (God knws why) to appear I had been hitting cancel when I should have hit OK without inserting a password and thus creating a null password. Whatever, it worked. Very many thanks to you - and F1! |

Why don't you take her out for a latte or something and fight it out through the froth? Yeah, I know you actually live five hundred kilometres apart. :-) | Sami (667) | ||
