| 66230 | 2002-07-28 10:39:00 | I have random tmp files appearing in my windows directory, they all have long coded names such as fffe80f5_{1557D2C8-4137-4E23-A16A-38BF1B13732D}.tmp they are all 0 bytes long Does anyone know how i can find out what prog is doing this? p.s. my temp directories are pointed at c:\windows\temp, and most stuff goes there bar these files |

| 66233 | 2002-07-28 11:33:00 | I had this problem some time ago. My last reinstall of Windows cured it but you can disable MDM in the start up as stated by Tweak'e as a workaround. If you're interested in the technical details of the problem see this page: OFF2000: Files Whose Name Begins with "fff" Appear in Windows Folder (support.microsoft.com) Also: OFF: How to Turn Off Machine Debug Manager, Mdm.exe (support.microsoft.com) might be helpful. | 66234 | 2002-07-29 05:13:00 | roofus, don't touch the extra loadpowerprofile, they are both definitely needed. One is for when the PC is booting up and the other for when it is booted up, or something like that. Just leave then both there. |
